Stiamo cercando di raccogliere idee per valutare se nel nostro ambito si può fare qualcosa di – anche piccolo ma concreto – a favore delle persone e della regione così duramente colpita da questa tragedia.
Ogni suggerimento è importante e prezioso!

Hi Larry and Terry!
Thanks for any effort that you can do in supporting L’Aquila University and local Department of Computer Science.
ISF has a volunteers’ team onsite and direct contact with Prof. Claudio Arbib who is Department’s Head.
At the moment they need a hundred notebooks as incentive for poorer students in the area as well as any possible project idea for incentives from companies and universities all over the World in order to offer education and advanced training options (f.i. stages, thesis offers, project cooperations with L’Aquila courses for students in abroad universities) all targeted to make L’Aquila attractive again for students. This university pole used to have almost 27000 students on a L’Aquila population of 70000 and its relaunch would mean a crucial way to let L’Aquila live rebirth, they explained.
Thanks for any proposal that you will offer, I sent you direct contacts of Prof. Arbib too in case you’d like to have a talk and assess situation and needs directly with him too.
ISF remains at your full disposal again super thanks Guys!
Warmest regards,
Aldo
Terry,
Please see the attached note from Aldo.
Please note that the University where they need approximately 100 computers is in the earthquake area where President Obama just recently visited and noted the vast amount of devastation there.
If you have a “goodwill” budget please consider a donation that would assist the school in getting back on its feet.
Thanks,
LC
Hi Sylvia,
at the moment no specification is output but target is to allow even basic remote learning and – given current lack – I think that all good proposal are welcome (only real requirement will be direct shipment to L’Aquila postal address that will be made soon available).
I remain at full disposal
warmest regards,
Aldo
