At the 188th place on 188 in the ranking of the countries by index of human development, the Central African Republic is twice the size of Italy and has 5 million inhabitants, of which one in the capital. It has only one pediatric hospital and only four local pediatricians across the country. The aim of the project is to ensure access to quality health services in the Health Region 7. This to be achieved through the enhancement of the capacities of the Bangui Pediatric Complex (CPB). For children in RCA this hospital, the only pediatric and the only National Center for pediatric emergencies, is essential.
ISF’s participation in the project includes specific activities aimed at the development and management of the hospital pharmacy plus consultancy, also in terms of the elaboration of an action plan aimed at increasing the structure’s capacities (IT resources) and at defining staff training needs.
