Home > Progetti > Trashware, in collaboration with the Italian Linux Society

Funding: 5xmille to Informatici Senza Frontiere and donations from individuals and organizations
Location: Tuscany, collaboration with all sections
Duration: ongoing project
ISF role: partner of local realities, associations, and public bodies

What we no longer need is not necessarily useless for others. Our trashware courses (from trash = garbage and hardware) are born from the philosophy of reuse, that is the recovery of old hardware that is “reconditioned” and brought back to life thanks to particularly “light” GNU / Linux distributions.

Computers, made efficient, updated, and safe in this way, are donated to schools, hospitals, reception centers, family homes, associations, and citizens in need.

Since 2020, the project has been collaborating with the Italian Linux Society.
