NAME OF THE PROJECT
Sololo Hospital – Kenya.
THE PROJECT :
Sololo Project is launched in January 2008 when the Piedmont section of Informatici Senza Frontiere gets to know Turo Wario’s story thanks to Silvio Galvagno, a doctor working for CCM association. Turo is a smart young blind teacher who is particularly dedicated to the assistance of young patients who have to stay in Sololo hospital (Kenya) for a long time. Turo needs a special software to be able to dictate and read emails. In March 2008, after some weeks of study and research, some voluntary ISF members go to Sololo with a laptop equipped with special software for web accessibility.
Some time later, Informatici Senza Frontiere, together with CMM, works on a feasibility study for the computerization of Sololo Hospital. They want to install Open Hospital, the software developed by ISF for the management of basic hospital operations.
