Bambini al PC – Ospedale di Brescia
DESCRIZIONE INIZIATIVA
Il progetto “Bambini al pc” nasce all’interno della sezione Pediatria dell’Ospedale di Brescia, dove spesso i piccoli pazienti sono costretti a lunghe degenze e alla lontananza dalla propria città. Grazie alla collaborazione con l’A.B.E., Associazione Bambino Emopatico, è stata installata una rete di 28 personal computer, dotati di connessione ad Internet e di strumenti software per la comunicazione, come Skype, e per giocare. I pc sono stati donati ad Informatici Senza Frontiere da Fujitsu Siemes, il cui contributo alla realizzazione del progetto è stato fondamentale, insieme alle donazioni di Zurich Assicurazioni e HilLight.
Grazie all’implementazione della rete wireless, i piccoli ricoverati e lo staff di medici possono restare collegati al mondo, giocare, e dialogare con le famiglie e gli amici lontani. A breve sarà valutata anche la possibilità di rendere possibili programmi di e-learning per mantenere i bambini in contatto anche con la propria scuola.
Il progetto sta avendo riscontro molto positivo, ed è stato replicato presso l’Ospedale Burlo Garofalo di Trieste.
Ecco che cosa hanno detto alcuni bambini e genitori commentando il progetto con il personale addetto alla gestione e consegna dei pc:
“Grazie del pc perchè mi fa passare il tempo all’ospedale andando in internet o parlando con i miei amici su messenger.” Giovanni, 14 anni
“Con il pc ascolto le canzoni di Disney e dello Zecchino d’oro.” Maria, 5 anni
“Sono una mamma di una bambina di 7 mesi della Tunisia che con Skype riesco a veder e a parlare con i miei parenti e ad ascoltare la musica del mio paese. Grazie!”
“Sono una mamma di un bimbo di un anno e vengo dall’Ucraina. Con Skype vedo e parlo con mio marito e mi sento meno sola. Grazie.”
“Con il pc gioco a tanti giochi nuovi e disegno. Bello!” Martino, 7 anni
“Con il pc lavoro con i professori presenti in reparto. Ad esempio, con quello di musica che mi insegna a riconoscere nuovi generi musicali. Poi vado in internet per conoscere tante cose nuove.” Sara, 12 anni

NAME OF THE PROJECT
Bambini al PC – Hospital of Brescia
THE PROJECT :
The project called “Children on a PC” was launched in the paediatric ward of the hospital of Brescia, where small patients often have to spend a long time far from the their towns. Thanks to the help of ABE (Associazione Bambino Emopatico), an association for children with blood diseases) a network of 28 PCs, equipped with Internet connection and software tools for communication, such as Skype, and for playing was installed in the ward. The PCs were donated to Informatici Senza Frontiere by Fujitsu Siemens, and this contribution, together with the donations of Zurich Assicurazioni and HilLight, has been fundamental.
Thanks to the implementation of a wifi network the small patients and the medical staff can be connected to the world, and they can play and talk to their families and friends. We’ll shortly discuss about the possibility of implementing some e-learning programs to enable children to keep in touch with their teachers and schools.
The feedback from this project was very good and another similar project was launched in Ospedale Burlo Garofalo in Trieste.
A few comments made from some children and their parents to the staff who delivered and installed the PCs:

“I can hear Walt Disney songs and “Zecchino d’oro” festival songs with this PC.” Maria, 5–year– old
“I’m the mother of a 7–month–old baby girl from Tunis and I can talk with my relatives and listen to the music of my country with Skype. Thank you!”
“I’m the mother of a one–year–old baby boy and I come from Ukraine. Now I can talk to my husband with Skype and I feel less lonely. Thank you!”
“I can play and draw with the PC. It’s good!” Martino, 7– year– old
“I can work with some teachers who are in the ward. For example there is a music teacher who helps me recognizing new music genres. Then I can use internet to discover many new things.” Sara, 12– year– old
